Federation - Victoria, Australia The Australian Ballooning Federation is responsible for the day to day administration of sport ballooning in Australia, and is contracted to carry out safety and surveillance duties for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). As the principal ballooning body in Australia, the ABF is responsible for: Safety issues, Landowner relations, Maintenance and publication of the official operations manual for balloonists, Training of pilots, instructors and examiners, and the issue of private pilot, instructor and examiner certificates.
